HIGH SCHOOL: Akin was an all-disctrict performer and team captain for Jim Glover at McNairy Central High School.
Personal: Parents are Scott Akin and Lacinda Lashlee. His father played football at Lambuth University. Member of the Beta Club in high school. Pre-med major who chose to play at Carson-Newman because the Christian atmosphere was reflected in the coaching staff.
